Sam Murphy-Sugrue

University Of Liverpool

I obtained my MPhys degree from the University of Southampton and am now studying for a PhD as part of the DTN under the joint supervision of Prof James Bradley and Dr James Harrison. My project involves modelling the behaviour of Langmuir probes at the edge of tokamaks. Langmuir probes are used as a diagnostic tool to obtain information about the conditions in the edge plasma. After the 6 months of lectures at York I will move on to Culham where I will spend most of my time, with occasional visits to Liverpool in order to carry out experiments.
