In September we welcomed our new cohort of Fusion CDT students across the five university partners. Since the start of term, as well as studying there has been time to socialise and get to know each other better. A teambuilding afternoon took place on Wednesday 17th October at Hazlewood Castle. Activities included archery, a cryptic chase, lawn games and axe throwing! This was followed by an evening meal at Walmgate Ale House in York. Students said afterwards, “It was really great to try out new things” and “I feel like I know the rest of the cohort much better, which is good”. Some photos of the day are below.

These new first year students have just finished spending three weeks together at University of York studying their first taught modules. They are now setting off to University of Oxford for a week long module on ‘Materials Applications in Fusion’.
