Noah Chulu-Chinn

My project is titled ‘Energy Transport Investigation in a Spherical Tokomak by Means of Integrated Modelling and Gyrokinetic Theory’.

Large scale instabilities in a Tokomak plasma can cause particle and energy transport detrimental to the aim of achieving long-term plasma confinement in a fusion reactor. This project will use computational codes based on gyro-kinetic theory to simulate plasma scenarios on a supercomputer, in order to improve current transport models and our understanding of how to keep fast particles confined.
