Michael Barnes

I am studying for a PhD with the Fusion Centre for Doctoral Training under the Supervision of Dr Mark Bowden (University of Liverpool). My research investigates whether negative ion sources used in the microelectronics and materials processing industries can be implemented as an efficient and caesium free ion source for neutral beam injection, a mechanism used for plasma heating and control in magnetic confinement fusion.
