Co-hort year: 2013

I am currently studying for my DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford under the supervision of Prof Steve Roberts and Dr David Armstrong as a member of the Materials for Fusion and Fission Power (MFFP) research group.

My project aims to characterise the micro-mechanical properties of irradiated silicon carbide, looking specifically at nanoindentation properties and using micro-cantilevers to look at fracture properties across fusion relevant temperature regimes up to ~ 900°C. This work will primarily be done using a high temperature nanoindentation system.

Helen is now a CDT alumni
