Dr David Dickinson
Deputy Director and Senior Admissions Tutor
University of York
David is a Senior Lecturer at the University of York. His research is in the area of computational plasma physics, with a particular focus on the study of plasma instabilities and turbulence of relevance to magnetic confinement fusion energy (MCF). Understanding the turbulent transport of particles and energy allows them to gain insights into how best to design and optimise future power plants to maximise plasma confinement and hence fusion power output. He currently contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate modules on different aspects of computational plasma physics as well as the Fusion CDT’s “Collaboratory” module.
