Congratulations to Jack Haley, a 4th year Fusion CDT student, who recently won first prize in the ‘Scientific Conference’ category in the University of Oxford, Department of Materials annual poster competition. Jack’s poster was titled ‘Radiation damage with a twist: a study of irradiation damage in a neutron-irradiated model alloy of Fe-9Cr”. Understanding the processes behind such damage will help predict the lifetime of nuclear reactor materials and contribute to the development of new radiation-resistant materials.
