Congratulations to Greg Smith, a York Fusion CDT student who successfully defended his thesis at viva in 2021. Greg’s thesis is entitled “Negative ion production in low temperature hydrogen plasmas” and his supervisors were Professor Timo Gans and Dr. James Dedrick.

Greg is continuing his research career having accepted a post-doctoral position at the University of Antwerp in the PLASMANT group, supervised by Prof. Annemie Boegarts. He will be studying the production of olefin products from methane utilising atmospheric pressure methane plasmas and catalysis.
