After completing my bachelor’s degree at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and my master´s degree in Madison, Wisconsin I started my PhD under the supervision of Prof Howard Wilson at the University of York in 2012. My research is focused on modelling Edge Localised Modes (ELMs) using the non-linear ballooning mode envelope equation which can be derived from ideal MHD theory and which describes the filamentary and explosive behaviour of ELMs. The final goal of this research is to use experimental data to validate our models which will help to make predictions for future devices like ITER.
