I am currently studying for a PhD at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Prof Paul Mummery and Dr Jimenez-Melero. My project looks to underpin the key mechanisms at the micro-scale that control the mechanical performance of tungsten alloys under realistic environmental conditions in a fusion power plant. The knowledge gained in this project will hopefully allow the development of tungsten alloys with optimised performance in fusion plasma conditions.
